I. Definition of a Flange

When it comes to flanges, many people feel quite unfamiliar. But for those who are engaged in mechanical or engineering installation, they should be very familiar with them. A flange is also called a raised disk or protruding rim. Its name is the transliteration of the English word "flange". It is a component that connects two shafts to each other, used for connecting pipes, pipe fittings or equipment. Any connection component that uses bolts to connect the periphery of two planes and is sealed can be collectively referred to as a flange.

II. Classification of Flanges

1. According to the standards of the chemical industry: Integral flange, threaded flange, plate flat welding flange, necked butt-welding flange, necked flat welding flange, socket-welding flange, butt-welding ring loose-fitting flange, flat welding ring loose-fitting flange, lined flange cover, flange cover.

2. According to the mechanical (JB) industry standards: Integral flange, butt-welding flange, plate flat welding flange, butt-welding ring plate loose-fitting flange, flat welding ring plate loose-fitting flange, flanged ring plate loose-fitting flange, flange cover, etc.

Although there are many types of flanges, each type is mainly composed of three components. First is the flange itself, which will be placed on the pipeline, and then the sealing gasket installed between the two flanges, which can provide a tighter and more effective sealing effect.

Due to the important role and excellent comprehensive performance of flanges in daily life, they are widely used in industries such as chemical, fire protection, petrochemical, and drainage.

Although this small part of the flange is not eye-catching in the entire product, the role it plays is very important.
